Before You Buy Any Bike!

At Paragon Cycling, we understand during these extraordinary times that you have budget limitations and will want to get the best bike possible for your dollar. Sometimes this means that you will end up trying to buy from Ebay, Craigslist or one of the several online discount businesses that offer some really phenomenal buys. As consumers ourselves, we understand the reasonings behind this. But, before you buy that road, mountain or tri bike, please take the time to either call, email or come in to consult with us before you push that "buy" button. We can help you determine whether that bike is a good deal or fit for you. Most important, on either a road or tri bike, we can help ensure that the bike is the right size for you. It would benefit you greatly to come in and get a bike fit with us first, then go shopping for that deal. After your fitting, you can even call us about a particular bike and we can determine whether it will be a good fit for you based on your measurements we have on file from your fit session.

As always, be aware of buying from Ebay or Craigslist. There are scams, as usual, but even buying new off of Ebay or other auction websites does not guarantee you a warranty as most manufacturers will not honor warranties on bikes that are purchased outside of the normal retailer channels. Also, there are the cost considerations of buying used, such as worn parts, that may negate any price advantages over buying new from your local bike dealer. Buying new from your local bike shop generally will get you the warranties that protect you in case of defects or failures and the free adjustments after the sale that most bike shops provide for a determined period of time based on the individual shops policies. We offer 6 months unlimited adjustments when you buy a new bike from us.

Once you have made your purchase, we will gladly offer our great bike build service to make sure that your bike is built correctly and professionally. You also have the convenience of having  the bike shipped directly to our shop, if you so desire, and avoid having to use your valuable time to bring us the bike once you receive it. Once we build the bike, we can apply your personal fit measurements to your bike and have it already to go with the correct adjustments for you. We can also pick out, in advance, all your accessories such as shoes, pedals, bottle cages, saddle bag and computers and have them installed when we build your bike.
