2017 Bianchi Pista

Bianchi's Pista is a retro track bike that's ready for the track and the streets. Lovingly fashioned from double-butted chromoly, this rig is masterfully crafted to excel on banked velodromes, with a minimal 28mm fork offset for stable handling, a high bottom bracket for pedal clearance, rear-entry dropouts for chain adjustability and a short wheelbase for agility. It features track-ready components like the Maddux wheels, FSA crankset, high-flange hubs and steel track bars. Best of all, the Pista is perfect as a fixed-gear trainer or fixie urban flyer, too.

      Comments:

I bought this bike for winter fixed-gear training. Really helps you develop a strong, smooth pedal stroke. I love how comfortable the steel frame is on rough roads--Since you are pretty much seated all the time on a fixie, I don't think that a lighter, stiffer aluminum frame would be as ideal for long road rides as I use mine for. I only wish it had at least one set of bottle bosses--I know it doesn't because it's supposed to be an "authentic" track bike (like the steep, quick-handling angles and true track bike geometry) but with how many of these never make it onto the track, I think putting at least one set of bottle bosses would be wise.

        Comments:

The Pista is a hip fixie that brings classy back. The track bars have the perfect bend, the Conti stock tires are fantasitc, and the geometry is perfect. Plus it boosts your Street Cred. Everytime you are seen on this bike your Hipster level will skyrocket. That is, if whoever sees you and your bike can actually recognize what and who you are. (This thing is pretty darn quick).

My top choices were between the surly steam roller and the bianchi pista. I bought the bianchi pista and I love it. This bike is fast and sexy. I get compliments every time I ride my bike through the city. I'm glad I bought this bike.

Cool, simple, cheap, comfortable (won't rattle your teeth like aluminum fixies). My roadie friends wish it had bottle mounts, but that's because they ride theirs 2-3 hours in training. Non issue for me.
